The Institute of Embedded Systems is a recognised expert in the field of industrial communications, specifically Real-Time-Ethernet communications with a staff of around 40 including 4 Professors and lecturers directly involved in international research projects in the field.

In particular, InES has proven itself as an international competence centre for various Industrial Ethernet orientated protocols including IEEE1588 (PTP), Profinet, Powerlink and various high availability protocols such as PRP and MRP.

Slot cards :

In order to reach such precise synchronization, a hardware Clock- and Time Stamping Unit is necessary. Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHW) is in a position to offer a network interface card with on-board high precision clock- and time stamping unit.
